A formal 2026 ISSN position stand explicitly names tart cherry among top-ranked antioxidant nutrients with a concrete dose (480 mg powder or 60-90 mL juice/day for 7-14 days) and a moderate-to-high evidence rating, and an ACSM-journal review points the same direction. However the evidence is not uniformly strong: effects on perceived soreness (DOMS) are inconsistent (significant only in the 2021 meta-analysis, non-significant in 2025 and 2026), creatine kinase, a direct muscle-damage marker, is NOT reduced and was even higher with tart cherry in one analysis, GRADE certainty ranges from very low to moderate due to heterogeneity, small samples and imprecision, and several primary trials are cherry-industry funded. This profile, consistent moderate-quality benefit on a real recovery outcome but partial inconsistency and certainty caps, fits a B rather than an A.

The effect of tart cherry juice (TCJ) supplementation on exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD) in an athletic population

結論:Across 10 RCTs (212 participants), tart cherry juice significantly improved MVIC by 9.13% (95% CI 6.42 to 11.84, p<0.001) and significantly decreased IL-6 (-0.4 pg/mL, p=0.006) and IL-8 (-0.3 pg/mL, p=0.04). Creatine kinase was paradoxically higher with TCJ (+45.88 IU/L, p=0.03) and VAS muscle soreness change was not statistically significant.
