Finding: Konjac glucomannan group showed significant improvements in PAC-SYM, PAC-QoL, BMF, and BFI vs placebo (p<0.05 all); increased microbial alpha-diversity and beneficial bacteria.
View on PubMed Supplementation of konjac glucomannan into low-fiber Chinese diet promoted bowel movement and improved colonic ecology in constipated adults
Finding: Weekly defecation frequency increased from 4.1±0.6 to 5.3±0.6 (~30% improvement); increased lactobacilli/bifidobacteria, SCFAs, lower fecal pH.
