Impact of daily Chlorella consumption on serum lipid and carotenoid profiles in mildly hypercholesterolemic adults: a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled study

Finding: In mildly hypercholesterolemic adults Chlorella reduced total cholesterol (-1.6% vs +0.03% placebo, p=0.036), triglycerides (-10.3% vs +11.9%, p=0.002), VLDL cholesterol (-11% vs +11.8%, p=0.006) and apolipoprotein B (-1.5% vs +1.7%, p=0.044) over 4 weeks.
